The return home

We had a good ride home. Everyone was ready to get back to their regular lives. I'd say this experience changed all of us in a way. We made some friends along the way and put ourselves in positions we would have never been in. I can't be thankful enough for this experience. I have my guitar that I got everyone to sign as a memento of this trip.

Day 9

Tonight we won an election. were invited to the victory gala in Columbia on election night. See this was the crown jewel. Only those close to the campaign could get into this thing and we were considered to be in that category at this point. Trump came onto the stage a shocking 1 minute after the polls closed and declared victory. I was astounded. We schmoozed with high ups, took pictures with the team, and celebrated our crushing victory over Nikki Haley. I got in with some true insiders that later invited me to an after-party event that I will not disclose the details of in this blog post. But it was truly memorable.

Day 8

We met Marjorie Taylor Green, 2 ambassadors, and some other key players at Congressman Joe Wilson's campaign office today. We spent the day phone banking and bonding with the team. We ended up on the side of the road sign waving for a large part of the day. Got a lot of honks and a couple middle fingers so I guess it's an honest day's work. I got the team to sign a guitar I bought to memorialize my time here. Got to jam a little too. Today is what grassroots is really all about.

Day 7

I worked directly with Secret Service, SWAT, and local campaign affiliates to ensure the integrity of the operation. (Just a cool way of saying I worked security). I had the pleasure of pulling disabled veterans out of the extremely long line that was wrapped around the venue and taking them to the ADA line where they would receive front-row treatment at a fraction of the wait time. I always have to look out for my guys. I probably had 15 people ask me if I was CIA or Secret Service. Guess they liked the suit.

After working the lines and corralling the masses, we got front row floor seats to the rally. It was electric. There were so many people who were jumping out of their seats every time Trump did his Trump thing. The event was a real inside look into what goes on in the mind of a Trump supporter, and it went on without incident.

Day 6

Today we got a chance to meet with some state reps at the capital. I got to present an award to a fellow vet and state rep. We were able to sit in the chambers and observe the senate proceedings. Our campaign office was closed, so the ladies and I went to the park for the evening. It was good to get a second to chill out and observe the quiet that is South Carolina.

Day 5

I'm feeling better after the town hall yesterday. Today I was able to meet Laura Trump and work in the HQ down in Charleston. Rep. Nancy Mace was also at the event. There were tons of people all excited to hear from them both. I didn't get any good pictures but I got to have a lot of great conversations.

Day 4

The town hall with Laura Ingram today was the first time I saw The Donald himself in person. Key takeaway: He’s not as orange as one would imagine.. This experience was invaluable. I talked with the press, delegates, voters, insiders, and some wild characters at this event. Trump mostly answered her questions in his typical Trumpian fashion, but there was one thing in particular he said that struck me when asked about taking revenge against Biden this year “Our revenge will be our success”.  The place went wild when he dropped that one-liner, and that memory will be burned into my brain forever
