Day 1

 Today we started at the campaign HQ in Charleston, SC. This office facilitates events, host people of interest, and serve as a main hub for us in the coming days. I was first struck with the sense of professionalism among the staff at the field office. The big boss, Eric, was a stoic man. Perhaps hardened by his work in politics over the years, but nonetheless ran an incredibly tight operation. Boards were posted in the main conference room with numbers split between 4 regions on a map of the state. Statistics on voter targeting, phone bank numbers, and of course the leaderboards, where volunteers and employees of the campaign could track their own contributions along with a little friendly competition to keep things interesting and people incentivized. I believe the prize for this week is a signed MAGA hat for a certain number of voters surveyed. Phone banking and door knocking were the main method  of contact for volunteers on the campaign. I spent the day beating the pavement and talking to voters.
